Marketing Holders Business Card Holder Vertical or Horizontal Display Stands

Business cards can be traced back to the 17th century and the nobility of Europe. At the time they called visiting cards and were presented to the servant of a household when nobility came calling. Later they were called trade cards in 17th century London when tradespeople used them to describe the businesses and locations.

In the 18th century, calling cards were used to announce the arrival of a man calling on a lady. By the late 18th century, the ideas of the trade cards and calling cards were combined into what is now known as business cards.

With such a long and storied history, it is no wonder business cards are still in use today.

Business card displays now make it easier to get vital contact information into the hands of potential customers and clients. Card displays can be set or mounted just about anywhere. With the variety of styles and configurations now on the market, there is no reason for any business or business person to do without this valuable tool. Whether you have one card or 12 to display, there is a business card holder to match your needs.

  • Business cards are used by all sorts of industries and professions. Today we even have vanity cards people can hand out even when they aren't promoting a business. A display on the corner of your desk or in the waiting room of your office puts your cards within easy reach of customers. They can also be left in remote locations as a means of increasing business even when you aren't there to do it yourself.

What benefits can you derive from business card holders?

  • Having an accessible display means you don't have to remember to hand them out because they are always available.
  • "li"Acrylic card holders are affordable. "li"They clean up easily and make for professional display. "li"They come in a variety of sizes, styles and configurations so you can display the quantity and variety of cards you need. "li"Holds approximately 30 - 40 cards and is ideal for creating an organized and professional desktop or countertop. "li"Angled open design allows easy access to your contact information for potential customers and these Card box display stands are good in any setting in your home, office, or reception counter. "li"Using a business card holder is a quick and easy way to gain business and clients for doctors offices, travel agencies, leasing offices, retail outlets, trade show booths and more.

In addition to business information, the acrylic holders can also be used to display other small media. Store credit cards or gift cards are often placed in the cases near the register or checkout stand to increase clientele and expand the customer base. Other times, simple gift certificates are placed in the pockets.

Easy to Clean

To clean acrylic, polystyrene and plexiglass that has slight blemishes, fingerprints or dirt, start off by clearing away any debris. Then, use a premium micro-fiber cloth with alcohol cleaning solution or soapy water to clean the entire surface area. After wetting the cloth, be sure to lightly blot the surface, rather than applying pressure as you wipe. Too much pressure can actually result in more scratches. After you have wiped the entire piece of acrylic, use the dry side of the cloth to dry or buff the area. Buffing or polishing the acrylic surface reduces future stains. If there are any remaining streaks, rewet the cloth and dry again.

Choose Carefully: There are a couple of cleaning items that you'll want to stay away from. In fact, using the wrong cleaning product can completely damage your acrylic displays to the point that they become unusable!

  • Do not use paper towels because they will not remove scratches and may even cause them. Stick with micro-fiber type of cloth.
  • Avoid ammonia based products, like Windex or other home glass cleaners, because they contain harmful chemicals that will actually damage the surface leaving it cloudy looking. Soapy water is the safest and most effective cleaning solution for acrylic. Cleaning Instructions

About zebrafish research at ucl

The zebrafish is a small tropical fish that has become one of the favoured animal model systems for research in many areas including embryonic development, genetic analyses of disease, neural circuit function and behaviour. One reason for this popularity is that zebrafish embryos are optically transparent and genetically tractable making them ideally suited for studies of cell and tissue behaviour and function. Zebrafish also exhibit sleep, social, hunting and other complex behaviours and progress in understanding the neuroanatomy of the brain is facilitating studies of the neural circuits mediating these behaviours.

On this site, you can learn about the wide range of research projects at UCL that use zebrafish and see many beautiful images and movies from these projects. We appreciate that not all our visitors are trained scientists and so we have public outreach pages that help to explain what we do.

Research groups

There are many research groups using zebrafish for research at UCL and you can find out about some of them here, or continue reading about Zebrafish at UCL.

Zebrafish research at UCL is supported by a team of core staff, who you can read about here.

In the fish labs we love doing experiments, but we also love sharing our enthusiasm for science and for zebrafish with others. That is why we take our outreach activities very seriously.

We are committed to promoting science, critical thinking and education of young people via our Outreach Activities. Our aim is to reach students from all backgrounds, help them to engage with STEM and to gain an insight into the opportunities available in higher education and STEM research.

COVID 19 UPDATE: Due to the current situation ZebrafishUCL are unable to offer any workexperience placements or lab visits this or next academic year(2020/2021).

We offer a range of outreach activities, both ‘in classroom’ workshops, as well as ‘on-campus’ at UCL. Please choose an option below to explore our outreach programs. Please note that only teachers may request school visits from zebrafish researchers(LAB2SCHOOL) and visits to the zebrafish lab for school students(SCHOOL2LAB).
